Feature · Bookkeeping & corrections

Review. Post. Correct with less effort.

Record transactions manually or work with prepared drafts. When something needs correcting, the source document, original entry and correction stay connected.

What it does

  • Use your chart of accounts

Work with SKR03 or SKR04 and manage ledger accounts, customers and suppliers. Record multi-line transactions and save a draft or post after review.

  • Correct with a prefilled draft

For eligible posted entries, the correction action creates a reversal and copies the existing details into an editable draft. Bulk reversals and supported rebooking workflows are also available.

  • Keep the context in the journal

Filter entries by period, account, text and status. Open entry details, history and the linked document when you need to review or explain a transaction.

  • Prepare recurring transactions

Create a recurring template for rent or insurance, for example. Due templates are processed into posted entries subject to validation and period locks.

  • Prepare taxes and year end

Prepare German advance VAT returns from accounting data and trace figures back to transactions. Use closing checks, opening balances and foreign-currency revaluation. Production ELSTER transmission requires activation and an appropriate certificate.

Small tools that make everyday work easier

For the steps you repeat throughout the working day.

Replace accounts across draft entries
When the same coding error appears repeatedly, review the preview and replace the account in the selected drafts.
Move to the next document after saving
Continue to the next document after successfully recording an entry. Document-free entry mode also stays selected when you are using it.
See the balance change before saving
The entry form shows the current balance and the projected balance after your input, so you can see the effect before saving.
Find older drafts
Notices after 30 and 90 days highlight drafts left unfinished. You decide when they are ready for posting.

Typical scenarios

Accounting backlogs

Work through documents in sequence. Replace repeated incorrect account assignments across draft entries after reviewing a preview.

Month and year end

Review the accounting period, resolve outstanding work and use the closing workflows. Professional decisions remain with you or your bookkeeping firm.

Frequently asked questions

Does a draft already count as posted accounting?

No. Drafts are editable preparation. Only posting includes the transaction in the posted accounting records.

Can every entry be corrected in the same way?

The reversal and editable-copy workflow supports eligible posted entries. Period locks, permissions and special system-generated entries may require a different process.

Can every tenant send through ELSTER immediately?

Preparation and production transmission are separate steps. Sending requires activation, the relevant permissions and a valid certificate. Check transmission availability for your tenant before your first filing.
